Welcome to Cette Petite Maison

My name is Carol-Ann and I am a maker and crafter of all kinds of things and with Cette Petite Maison (This Little House) I hope to share a little bit of my life here in the beautiful rural Quercy Blanc area of France and introduce you to some of my neighbours and their wonderful produce.

I am trying a embrace a simpler lifestyle, working towards sustainability so I am offering a small range of items, made, grown and harvested locally by neighbours and friends and I hope that the phrase Products with Provenance resonates.

If you would like to follow along, it would be lovely to have your company, just add your name and e-mail to Follow my Blog below, and I promise not to inundate you with too many posts.

Meet the Local Producers

Marie-Hélène is a very busy lady, she has a herd of sheep, Bee hives, Lavender fields and does weekly markets selling the products she produces.

Visiting her home studio is like stepping into a treasure chest filled with the fabulous scent of Lavender, which she works with, bottling the Essential oils, making sachets and decorations, there are also skeins of wool from her sheep, trays so of soap curing and all kinds of other things which to a maker like me is pure heaven.

Marie-Hélène is a firm believer in the benefits of all things Natural and her love of Nature really does come across in her products.

Stéphanie is our local producer of Saffron and she has been growing Autumn Crocuses since 2015.

Producing Saffron is a true labour of love as it is very, very labour intensive during the 3 week flowering period, when at its peak one can expect to pick over 1000 flowers in an afternoon and once they are all in the delicate process of removing the stamens starts and once that has been done they still need to be dried in an oven before the day can be called over.

I'm Carol-Ann and I am a "Maker and Crafter" I make Lampwork Glass Beads but I have put that on hold for a little while so I can concentrate on making other things.

I'm the mother of a gorgeous grown-up Son, Sebastian and he really is my greatest achievement :)

I love Animals, I have 4 horses and 3 cats, and try to live a simple, responsible and sustainable lifestyle.
